Surprise! Mrs. Thomas is a grant winner!
The MISD Education Foundation's prize patrol surprised Mrs. Thomas with a grant for $815.33 for STEM Bins.
"STEM Bins are boxes filled with an engineering manipulative such as Legos, pattern blocks, base ten blocks, connecting cubes, toothpicks and playdough, or popsicle sticks with Velcro on the ends. The boxes also contain small sets of task cards on metal rings that picture a variety of basic engineering structures for inspiration. When students’ regular classwork is complete, (or for Morning Work, during WIN Time, etc.) they can take one STEM Bin at a time, either to their seat or a quieter carpet area so as not to distract other students who are working, and get a quiet moment to engineer." - Mrs. Thomas
Congratulations Mrs. Thomas on a job well done.
